The experience

White water rafting below Victoria Falls is a full day on one of the most famous rafting rivers in the world: the Zambezi in the Batoka Gorge, graded 5. You paddle as a team with a trained guide who calls every rapid, with calmer stretches between the big water. Which rapids run depends on the river level: in the low-water season (roughly mid-August to late December) the run covers rapids 1 to 19 with lunch at the top of the gorge at rapid 19; in the high-water season (roughly late December to mid-August) it starts lower down at rapid 11 and runs to rapid 23.
Good to know: The National Parks fee of US$10 per person is charged in addition to the price. This activity depends on river levels and the season, so what runs on the day can change. Timings, meeting points and what to wear are confirmed in your booking voucher.
